Responsibilities
What you'll do
- The team also builds and applies OpenAI’s own technologies to develop internal intelligence systems, tools, and workflows that improve how competitive insight is generated, analyzed, and operationalized.
- About the Role As a Business Insights Intern, you will help improve and extend OpenAI’s existing business insights intelligence system.
- You will identify opportunities to make current workflows faster, smarter, more scalable, and more insightful, then lead a project that delivers a durable improvement to how competitive intelligence is generated and used across the company.
- This role is designed for someone who can combine analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and practical execution to build assets that continue creating value after the internship ends.
- In this role, you will: - Lead one high-impact internship project focused on automation, experimentation, optimization, or analytical insight within the business insights function. - Analyze existing competitive intelligence workflows and identify opportunities to improve speed, consistency, scalability, or usability. - Build tools, prototypes, frameworks, analyses, or visualizations that strengthen how GTM and product teams understand and respond to competition. - Contribute to systems that improve competitor monitoring, launch analysis, knowledge capture, briefing generation, or insight distribution. - Produce work that is documented, operationally useful, and structured for handoff so it can continue to generate value after the internship.

About the role
About the Team
The Business Insights team monitors competitors, generates actionable insights, and supports decision-making across GTM and product. The team also builds and applies OpenAI’s own technologies to develop internal intelligence systems, tools, and workflows that improve how competitive insight is generated, analyzed, and operationalized. These systems help OpenAI understand competitive dynamics, respond quickly to market developments, and surface high-quality intelligence across the organization.
